In support of its mission to provide memorable experiences and opportunities to children with life-threatening illnesses, the Make-A-Wish Foundation maintains numerous chapters around the United States and hosts several fundraising events, including Ride For Wishes, which is hosted annually by Make-A-Wish Illinois. In its third year, Ride For Wishes takes participants on a 70-mile motorcycle ride through Southern Illinois. Funds raised during the event support children in St. Clair, Madison, Macoupin, Jersey, and Greene counties.

Participating in Ride For Wishes costs $25 for either riders or passengers when tickets are bought ahead of time. Tickets bought the same day as the event are $30. The registration price includes a BBQ dinner, t-shirt, and rocker or patch to commemorate the event. Businesses that sponsor the event for $100 will have their logo printed on the ride t-shirt and ride sign. Registration begins at 10 a.m., and the riders head out at noon from Ted’s Motorcycle World. After the ride ends at the Alton VFW Post 1308, participants are invited to enjoy prizes, raffles, and auctions at a post-event party.
