James Neumann, the CEO and chairman of the North American billboards and outdoor media enterprise Optic Outdoor Signs, Inc., manages operations throughout the USA. Along with his many loyal and trusted employees, he provides local communities with widely disseminated information and entertainment services. He has been recognized by Advertising Age among its "50 Pioneers and Visionaries of Advertising” and was named one of “Five Original Thinkers of the ’90s” by Chicago magazine.
Mr. Neumann’s career in outdoor advertising began at the age of 19, when he started as a 3M sign installer, and he subsequently held leadership positions with companies such as City Outdoor in New York. Mr.Neumann presently also manages Wischen On-line cleaning Services in Chicago as a founding member. In his private life, he maintains significant philanthropic commitments, such as serving on the board of the United Way of St. Louis and the Boy Scouts of America. In 2005, James Neumann was recognized as a Spirit of Life honoree by the City of Hope cancer hospital and research center.
